GASKET- WATER JACKET COVER (118-0941)

The Water Jacket Cover Gasket fits the model with 50-55 hp Johnson/Evinrude Outboard Motors. This water jacket goes on top of the head. The gasket seals water, covers the entire water jacket opening, and cools the head down. The outer water jacket cover is prone to corrosion, and the holes open, leaking the coolant. Check the water gasket when running the engine and if there is leaking out of water. There is a problem in the gasket when water flows around the head area. Gently remove the water cover, and clean the flat plate area before installing the gasket. Make sure the other mating surface is also clean.
