DEFECTOR PLATE GASKET (2/Pack) (118-0915)

The Deflector Plate was manufacture to be use in between the exhaust riser and the exhaust manifold on Mercruiser engines with center riser manifolds. The deflector plate gasket is used as a sealer and prevents oil from splashing. It can only be mounted once and should not use again. The function of this is to keep water from backing up into the engine through the exhaust piping. This gasket also serves as the device that introduces cooling water into the exhaust exit piping system. To seal things up properly, make sure to clean the manifold surface.
