Description
A fitting is said to be a through-hull if it is attached through the hull of a boat. A hole must be drilled or cut through the boat's hull to allow a thru-hull fitting to pass through. Several examples of thru-hull attachments are sea-cocks, hoses, and thru-hull transducers. Through hulls can be utilized for various purposes, including the discharge of wastewater through a sink—the entry of seawater for the cooling of an engine, or the installation of sensors like depth gauges.
